Washington does not use the term "Annulment" when referring to an invalid marriage. Under Washington Law, a spouse may make a request that the Court determine that a marriage is invalid pursuant to the filing of a Petition to Determine the Validity of Marriage.
An
example of a situation where the Court will declare a
marriage to be invalid is when a spouse was previously
married and never divorced but then remarried. There are
other statutory factors that the Court will consider when
making the determination of the validity of marriage.
Please contact a Family Law Attorney at TLC to discuss the
validity of your marriage.
